Bella's Room

After the quiet dinner with Charlie Bella went up to her room and lied down for a minute thinking about Edward. She got up went to the bathroom and took a quick bath and came back again in her room. She sat on the bed and thought how foolish it would look if Edward was here.

As Edward watched Bella sit on her bed he jumped through the window and landed gracefully next to her bed. He sat down with a grin on her bead next to her. "Hey Bella."

Bella jumped and turned around. "What are you doing here? I mean..." she looked horrified. It looked really weird to have Greek God like looking boy in her room.

"Well. I couldn't sleep," He smiled broadly "So i thought i would pop in. Anyway." Hea said his face turning serious "Who knows the dangers someone like you could get into while sleeping."

The smile took away Bella's breath. "I can sleep safely thank you," she told Edward.

"If it is safety you need then no harm will befall while i am here. I will stay all noght if i have to. I doesn't matter to me. I won't lose any sleep." He said with a grin.

"Well, lets talk then," Bella said, "I have some questions for you."

"Well ok. Shoot. But remember i will ave my turn tomorrow. So if i were you i'd make these ones count." He said with a grin.

"Ok then," Bella said, "Tell me now, you aren't human are you?"

Edward looked around hoping for a distraction. Then he decided that she needed to know. He loved her to much not to tell. "No." He said admitedly. "I am not human. I am a vampire. But that doesn't change anything." He said but then added to himself lower "It should. But i can't help it."

Bella looked like she had swallowed a frog. She knew he wasn't joking. But still she was sure that he wasn't a human, "Um, I don't care whatever you are." she said plainly looking green.

Edward smiled brightly at Bella. But then he frowned. "But you should." He muttered to himself. "No matter what i can't ignore you. You are permanently in my head. And for that reason i guess... No. Any other questions?"

"Yes," Bella said starting again, "What's your age?" she demanded.

Edward looked at her with a grin. "Seventeen." He said. But he figured that she would know eventually his real age. "Although i have been seventeen for a while. One hundred years or so actually." He told her honestly

"Um, how did you become ..." she started but stopped abruptly in mid-sentence.

Edward's face went from friendly to serious as if he was remembering the pain. "When i was seventeen my family and i caught the spanish influenza. My parents both died and Carlisle needed a companion. So he took me to his home and changed me. Now thin you should be going to bed. Maybe one question more." He said looking more cheerful again.

"Um, how did you feel then, when ... you know ..." she said not looking at him.

"When i was changed? Well i can't remember really. It was the most unbearable thing. But worse is i will have no afterlife. Any Now" He said putting emphasis on Now. "You should go to bed."

"All right," she said looking unwilling and curled up like a little ball in her bead and closed her eyes.

Edward looked at Bella fall asleep and sat down in the rocking chair in the corner and watched Bella sleep.

Bella fell asleep soon as it had been a tiring day. It was a very good night's dreamless sleep.

In the morning Edward lent over Bella amost touching her ear and whispered "Good morning. Have a good sleep?"

Bella woke up and run a hand through her hair, then she heard Edward whispering and turned quickly at him, "You stayed!" she said delightedly and threw herself in his lap without thinking.

Edward was shocked when she jumped into his lap but got over it and gave her a hug. "Of course. I wanted to hear what you had to say tonight. You talk lots in your sleep you know?"

Bella looked wild for a minute, "Oh no," she gasped, Renee had teased her about this, but she didn't think it would be much of a matter here.
